From Brokenness to Restoration
Mike’s message is deeply personal. His own life underwent a remarkable transformation—from homelessness and addiction to full-time pastoral ministry. He also overcame a lifelong struggle with pornography addiction, which once cost him nearly everything God had entrusted to him, including his family, home, and ministry.
Through the grace of God, personal accountability, and the restorative power of Jesus Christ, Mike’s greatest battles have become some of the most meaningful parts of his testimony. His journey is living proof that no failure is final and no life is beyond the restoring power of Jesus Christ.
A Ministry of Recovery and Transformation
For seven years, Mike served as program director of Life in Focus Education, an interactive recovery curriculum he wrote and developed. The program helps individuals struggling with addiction move beyond surface-level behaviors to uncover and address the underlying issues from which addiction often develops.
With more than 30 years of experience in substance-abuse rehabilitation and anger-management education, Mike has dedicated much of his ministry to helping people find freedom, healing, and lasting transformation. He has taught recovery and deliverance principles in correctional facilities, rehabilitation programs, churches, and community settings, helping individuals renew their hope and begin rebuilding relationships with their families and loved ones.
Mike’s approach brings together practical biblical truth, compassionate accountability, and wisdom gained through personal experience. He does more than teach principles—he helps people recognize that their past does not have to determine their future.
The Story Behind Halted & Salted
Halted & Salted was born from Mike’s personal journey with the Lord—a journey marked by remarkable victories, painful failures, difficult seasons of correction, and the restoring grace of Jesus Christ. Through those experiences, Mike discovered that God can use both our triumphs and our trials to reveal purpose, develop spiritual maturity, and prepare us to serve others.
The book was written for those who sincerely desire spiritual growth but have found themselves halted by addiction, failure, fear, disappointment, religious expectations, or the consequences of past decisions. Drawing from biblical truth and lessons learned through his own transformation, Mike helps readers recognize the deeper spiritual processes taking place within their lives.
At its heart, Halted & Salted carries a message of hope: being halted by God does not mean being abandoned. God can redeem what appears lost, bring purpose out of suffering, and use even the most difficult chapters of our lives to prepare us to become the salt He has called us to be.
